We met Eric and Luce over lunch in Valparaiso during the early days of their sabbatical in 2005. We both belonged to Servas, a peacebuilding and hospitality organization. My wife, Paz, and I, are both architects, and we thought they would enjoy the serenity of the home we built in Cuncumen, in northern Chile. We subsequently offered them the opportunity to stay there. They declined at first, having set plans in the south for many months. But at the end of their sabbatical, they contacted us as they were about to explore the north.

We welcomed them wholeheartedly and they fell in love with Cuncumen, just as we had. They got involved in gardening, staining the dormitory, and caring for Luna (our donkey), Norte (our horse), José and Maria (our sheep), and our house pets as well. They came to the rescue when our caretakers had an emergency with their daughter and had to leave the site for Santiago. During these ten days, they watched over the orchard, cared for the animals, and kept an attentive eye over the property. We much appreciated that the house was maintained in top shape during their time there. We would recommend them without reservation as house and pet-sitters.

We cannot recommend more highly both Eric and Luce for pet sitting. More than pet sitting, Luce and Eric cared for our dog for a period of 6 years as if he were their own. McGriff loved visiting and being with these generous and loving people, and we loved and felt more than blessed to have them in our lives. We knew McGriff would be well cared for by two very conscientious individuals and were therefore able to leave our dog and enjoy our time away from home. 

You will not find more loving and caring sitters, in our opinion.

Thank you so much Luce and Eric!!!!!  We couldn't have loved Luce and Eric more as housesitters, and all-round wonderfully warm people, if we tried.  Our three dogs adored them, actually waiting by the front door when they left, as if hoping they would come back!  (And we hope they do).  They took care of our very large property (7 acres) watering the garden, picking weeds, etc. and giving our eldest dog medicine. They kept us updated—we didn't worry at all knowing they were so well cared for. The house was even cleaner than when we left, so what a treat that was, as we came back very tired from our travels. We can't thank them enough, and we are so grateful to them—it was such a fantastic fit. They are a couple who are super reliable, kind, and generous with their time to the house, property, and animals.  Please come back soon! We all miss you!!

My dog absolutely loves Eric and Luce. And she's a super good judge of character. She is always delighted to stay with them. I have found Eric and Luce to be completely trustworthy and reliable. I'm confident that they carry out my instructions, which is important to me. I don't worry when Kia is staying with them. I know she's having fun and getting TONS of loving attention! Both Kia and I recommend Eric and Luce without hesitation.
